Rockyfor3D
Rockyfor3D is a 3D rockfall trajectory software that explicitly and realistically integrates the barrier effect of trees and protection systems on falling rocks. Since December 2025, Rockyfor3D is in the hands of Luuk Dorren and Christoph Schaller at Nature Analytics. Built on 20+ years of peer-reviewed research, field-validated and trusted in 50+ countries, it simulates rockfall in complex terrain — accounting for forests, nets and dams.
With Rockyfor3D, Nature Analytics brings rockfall risk assessment to any scale. Our simulation expertise covers local, regional, and national extents, while our fully probabilistic analyses consistently link release, runout, reach, and impact probabilities to produce rockfall risk maps quantifying expected damage to buildings and infrastructure. Rigorous, scalable, and built for real-world decision-making.
Rockyfor3D (version 6.1.0) and its technical documentation will be available for direct download from October 2026.
