Who we are

Connecting data, analytics and environmental expertise

Nature Analytics is a Switzerland-based environmental analytics company founded by three specialists in natural hazard science, environmental management and technology. We connect companies, governments and organisations with the tools, data and expertise they need to assess, measure and manage nature risks and opportunities for critical infrastructure — and to deliver on a nature-positive world.

Our mission

Making environmental risk visible, measurable and actionable.

Our mission is to make environmental risk visible, measurable and actionable — and by doing so turn it into an opportunity. We believe that rigorous science and practical tools used by skilled professionals enable better decisions for people and nature alike.

Whether quantifying the 100-year impact energy of a rockfall on a bridge pier, or helping an organisation understand its nature-related financial exposure, we bring the same commitment to rigour and clarity.

Dr. Luuk Dorren

Co-Founder & CEO

Luuk Dorren is a recognised senior natural hazard and risk specialist combining deep technical expertise in rockfall and landslide modelling with proven ability to scale research into operational services. As professor of natural hazard & risk management at Bern University of Applied Sciences, he leads multidisciplinary teams and supervises PhD research on AI-based natural hazard modelling. He is the original developer of Rockyfor3D and has led national-scale natural hazard assessments delivering operational hazard and risk products for critical infrastructure owners across Europe. Since 2013 he has served as President of ecorisQ, the International Association for Natural Hazard & Risk Management.

Portrait of D. Christoph Schaller

Dr. Christoph Schaller

Co-Founder & CTO

Christoph Schaller is a seasoned technical leader with over 20 years of multidisciplinary experience in geoinformatics, data engineering, data science and software development, focused on operationalising research into production systems for natural hazard assessment. He co-led the re-development of Rockyfor3D and has contributed to numerous regional hazard and risk assessments in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. His role as researcher at Bern University of Applied Sciences give him broad expertise in scalable (geo-)data pipelines, GIS platform services, and AI-based geospatial modelling.
